Egor Vialtsev to continue with Zenit-2 as player-coach

Zenit farm team is going to play in Russian Superleague in the upcoming season, and we strengthen the roster with an experienced guard Egor Vialtsev. The club and the player signed a contract for one season.

Egor will not only play, but also assist to the head coach Boris Livanov. So, he is going to be a player-coach for Zenit-2, helping the young guys to adapt at this level.

Egor Vialtsev, Zenit-2 player-coach:

— I’m very glad to continue with Zenit and to stay in Saint Petersburg. In farm team, my task is to share my experience with youngsters, so they could improve their game even faster. Boris Livanov played a big role in my decision, he is the one who called me to the cadet Russian NT in the beginning of my career, we won silver medals at cadet Eurobasket back then. Now I have an opportunity to work with him again, and to syat in Zenit – a club with a great atmosphere and great fans.

Boris Livanov, Zenit-2 head coach:

— Egor is an outstanding person and a great player. It’s hard to imagine a better man as a player-coach for the young players.

Egor is a two-times Eurocup champion, two-times Russian champion, FIBA Cup winner and of course a reigning VTB League champion with Zenit.

Viatlev came to Zenit in March 2022. His experience and winning mentality helped out team to win its first-ever championship in VTB United League.
