Zenit signs Thomas Heurtel to a two-year contract

French national team guard Thomas Heurtel is joining our club on a 1+1 deal. The player comes off a successful season with Real Madrid and a great performance for French NT at Eurobasket.

In his career, 33 years old point guard played for Pau-Orthez (2007-2009), ASVEL (2009-2011, loans to Strasbourg and Alicante), Baskonia (2011-2014), Anadolu Efes (2014-2017), Barcelona (2017-2021), ASVEL (2021), and Real Madrid (2021-2022).

Since 2013, Heurtel plays for the French senior national team. He won Eurobasket gold medals back in 2013, bronze medals at the World Cup in 2015, silver medals at the 2021 Olympics, and most recently became a finalist of the latest Eurobasket edition.

Last season with Real, Thomas played with another Zenit newcomer Trey Thompkins and stepped on the court in 27 Euroleague games.
