Young Zenit players are in the national team

17-year-old Zenit-M basketball players arrived in Novogorsk immediately after passing school exams.

There is another replenishment in the RBF Open Camp for candidates for the Russian men’s national team. On June 16, the first training sessions in Novogorsk were held by two basketball players from the Zenit system — forward Pavel Zemsky and center Egor Ryzhov. Both players made a golden double with St. Petersburg teams last season: on April 21 they became champions of the VTB United Youth League, in the finals they grabbed an overtime win from CSKA (71:68), and on May 3 they defeated MBA in the decisive game of the Children’s Youth Basketball League (72:60). At the same time, Zemsky was named the CYBL-2022 MVP.

A busy season did not prevent the basketball players from successfully graduating from the 11th grade at school and passing exams, immediately after which guys arrived at the base near Moscow.

Before their arrival, the forward of the blue-white-blue Igor Volkhin had already joined the Russian National Team.

Practice session in Novogorsk under the leadership of head coach Zoran Lukic and his staff will last until June 19.
