Aaron Carver joins Zenit

American forward Aaron Carver (25, 201 cm) has signed a contract with our club for the remainder of this season.

From 2015 to 2020, he played in the Top division of the American NCAA student league, where he was a player in the starting five of the Old Dominion University in Wisconsin.

Last season was Aaron’s first in his professional career and debut in European basketball. Forward spent it in the KZS Slovenian Premier League, playing for the Hopsi Polzela. During the championship, the American was once recognized as the MVP of the round, and according to its results, he entered the TOP-2 of the League in rebounds. The average statistics in 23 games was 13.3 points, 11.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists in 33 minutes on the floor.

In 2021, a new challenge in Carver’s career was a move to Russia, where he signed a one-year contract with one of the Super League’s most titled clubs, Novosibirsk. Aaron added power to the front line of the Siberians. At the moment the team is in the top five of the league in rebounds and blockshots and takes 5th place in the standings. The American himself leads the ranking of the most dominant players under the rim with 11.2 rebounds. Carver also built a great connectiom with Zenit point guard Andrey Toptunov, who was on loan in Novosibirsk from January to March 2022. The average statistics in 23 games was 10.3 points, 11.2 rebounds, 1.0 assists and 0.9 blocks per 31 minutes on the floor.

At Zenit, Aaron Carver will play at number 13. It is expected that on March 6, the forward will make his debut in the VTB United League in the game against PARMA-PARIMATCH.
